Textile Motorcycle Clothing: Comfortable, Functional and Everyday-Friendly
Textile motorcycle clothing is very comfortable, as it is lightweight, multi-layered and well ventilated. Textile jackets and trousers have a slightly looser fit, which also makes them comfortable to wear off the bike. The downside of this wider cut is that the protectors can shift more easily, which may slightly reduce their protective performance. To ensure optimal protection, a closer-fitting cut should therefore always be chosen.
One of the advantages of textile clothing is that motorcycle jackets and trousers can be worn over everyday clothes. However, wearing suitable base layers is recommended for better comfort. Easy-care textile riding gear protects against wind and rain thanks to waterproof materials and can be well ventilated in summer via zip openings. Sporty one-piece suits that fit closely, create very little air resistance and do not move out of place are a very safe option for more experienced and performance-oriented riders. However, a one-piece suit is not recommended as your very first set of gear, as it can feel uncomfortable at first and needs time to be worn in before it fits properly.
