The Alpinestars Tech-Air® service at Mototrend
As part of our service, the entire airbag vest is fully dismantled, washed, checked for integrity and functionality, and repaired if necessary. Even after the airbag has been deployed, we can continue to support our customers, for example by replacing the cartridge. After deployment, the airbag also needs to be recharged – this service is also offered by us.
Comfortable wear under any jacket: Alpinestars Tech-Air®
The Alpinestars Tech-Air® airbag can be worn under almost any motorcycle jacket. When purchasing, it is important to ensure there is sufficient space between the airbag and the jacket to allow proper deployment. The airbag vest is breathable, and the air channels together with the perforated back panel provide excellent airflow and enhanced wearing comfort. The models are perfectly suited for road and racing riders as well as touring and adventure riders.
The Bluetooth connection to the Tech-Air® App allows easy monitoring of the system’s operating status, battery level and ride analysis. The app also displays your route on a map, which you can access at any time.
Top-level protection
The Alpinestars Tech-Air® airbag reduces impact force in an accident by up to 95% compared to a passive protector. To put this into perspective, this is roughly equivalent to the protection provided by 18 conventional back protectors..
The system – The Brain
Inside the Tech-Air® vest is a small computer known as “The Brain”. Up to twelve sensors (gyroscopes and accelerometers) continuously supply data that is analysed by an algorithm. If an imbalance in the incoming data is detected, the airbag deploys within milliseconds. A controlled detonation releases a gas-air mixture that inflates the vest in less than one tenth of a second. The airbag remains inflated for approximately five seconds before slowly deflating. The system operates completely independently of the motorcycle and is not GPS-controlled, allowing the airbag to deploy even when stationary, for example in the event of a rear-end collision. Battery status and system readiness are indicated via the LED display on the airbag. A fully charged battery provides up to 30 hours of operating time, and a full recharge takes around 4 hours.

The Tech-Air® 7x is a fully autonomous, standalone motorcycle airbag system designed for racing, offering riders a slim, low-profile and highly ventilated Tech-Air® protection solution.
Developed for performance-focused riding, the Tech-Air® 7x provides comprehensive upper-body protection by covering the shoulders, chest and full back. The integrated back protector is extended in length to offer additional coccyx protection.
The Tech-Air® 7x system can be used as a standalone unit or integrated into a compatible suit or jacket. It is designed to work both on closed race circuits, on the road, and even for light off-road riding.
Tech-Air® 10

The Tech-Air® 10 is the latest innovative autonomous airbag in the Alpinestars Tech-Air® family. Derived from the airbag technology developed for MotoGP riders, the Tech-Air® 10 is a slim, standalone and wearable airbag system that delivers outstanding body protection for racers, track-day riders and road riders.

The Tech-Air® 10 can be worn under any Alpinestars Tech-Air® Ready or Tech-Air® Compatible leather suit, as well as under third-party leather suits, as long as there is 4 cm of space around the chest and 2 cm around the hips.

Tech-Air® Off-Road
For ultimate off-road protection in extreme terrain
The Tech-Air® Off-Road is a FIM-homologated airbag system, specially developed to meet the demands of rally riding. Developed and tested since 2017 under the harshest conditions of the Dakar Rally, the toughest off-road race in the world, it delivers the most advanced active airbag technology for off-road riding.
In the event of a crash, the inflated active airbag (CE Level 1) provides full chest and back protection, as well as protection for the shoulders, neck and collarbones.
The system is integrated into an Alpinestars off-road protection jacket, which also features a Level 1 passive full back protector, passive limb protection, integrated arm protection, and a CE Level 2 passive full chest protector.

Tech-Air® 5 Plasma

The Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA from Alpinestars is the latest autonomous airbag system for road, off-road and track. Weighing just 1,530 g, it is around 25% lighter than the Tech-Air® 5 and, thanks to its ultra-slim design, can be worn almost invisibly under any motorcycle jacket.

The Tech-Air® 3 is Alpinestars’ lightest autonomous airbag system. It is designed to be worn over or under your motorcycle jacket, making it a practical and effective choice for touring riders, urban commuters and light off-road adventurers.
Alpinestars’ crash detection algorithm has been developed and refined using millions of kilometres of riding data and thousands of real-world accidents, allowing the system to accurately determine when the airbag needs to deploy before an impact or in dangerous situations such as a side fall or a highside.
When the Tech-Air® 3 detects the start of a crash, the protective airbag inflates in just 50 milliseconds to protect you at the critical moment.
